This 14 Days Uganda Safari spots you to the famous tree lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park and also takes you through a number of activities in different travel destinations in Uganda. This trip involves Birding, Chimpanzee Tracking, Gorilla Tracking, Game driving, Cultural tours and Nature expeditions.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After an early breakfast at your Hotel, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi town. Before you reach Masindi town you will branch off to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to see the black and white rhinos in their sanctuary. You will later proceed to Masindi town for Dinner and overnight at your booked Hotel.

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

You will wake up early in the morning and proceed to Murchison falls national park. You will start with your chimp trekking in the Kayingo Padibi (Budongo Forest) and other primates such as the grey monkeys, black and white monkeys, the olive baboons and also a variety of birds in the forest. After this experience you will you will continue into the park, visit the top of the falls and later you will check in the lodge and later cross the river to the northern part of the park to take an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile before you go for an evening game drive in Pakuba sector.

Expect to see animals like Hippos, crocodiles, Water bucks, and a wide variety of bird species. You will also reach the “Devils Cauldron” where you will be able to see clearly the majestic Murchison falls. Return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Kibale Forest national park. The journey will take almost 10 hours’ drive. This journey will take you through the verdant country side of the Albertine Escarpment. Also, you will pass Hoima homesteads for a clear view of the true African culture. Lunch will be held enroute in Hoima town. Proceed with the journey to Fort portal and later reach Kibale in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will set out for the morning briefing of the Chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kanyachu, the Park Headquarters and later after this, you will enter the forest to search for the man’s closest friend the chimps and all trackers must be above 18 years of age. The experience you will get when you are with these chimps, will enable you figure out the similarities between chimpanzees and Man. Besides the chimpanzees, you will also be able to see other primate species such as the grey cheeked mangabeys, baboons and vervet monkeys.

Return back to the Lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon go for the afternoon swamp walk in Bigodi. Here the guide will provide details about the flora and fauna that you will encounter and then after, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route visit the crater regions for scenic viewing. A game drive en route will offer you with views of different wildlife species and also acacia tree. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Game drive and launch cruise

Early morning after breakfast, you will set out for the game drive along the Kasenyi track for game viewing including the Buffalo, Elephant, Warthog and Lion. After this, return to the lodge for lunch and later depart for the 2 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Here you will encounter a close look at the Hippos, crocodiles and other bird species.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura and forest walk

After breakfast, you will go for the morning chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge. You will drive through grassland area, straight away and come transversely to an amazing ravine of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. The Rangers will provide you with all the necessary information about the gorge and then later you will return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon participate in the forest walk for bird watching.

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector an area commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions. After the game drive in Ishasha, have lunch and later proceed with your journey to Bwindi reaching in the evening.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi national park

After an early breakfast, drive to the ranger station for briefing from the parks guides. You will be briefed about gorilla trekking protocol and once this is done, you will set out with your packed lunch and penetrate the Jungle forest to search for the rare Mountain Gorillas.

The time taken to track gorillas is unpredictable and it can take 2- 10 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at a preferred lodge.

Day 10: Proceed to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale the place commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa. Relax on Lake Bunyonyi as you wait for the sunset.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi activities and relaxation

After breakfast, you will spend the whole day touring Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the most Islands on the Lake. Each Island is characterized different bird species.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival, you will go for the game drive which will give you insights of animal species like the zebras, topes, elephants, elands, impalas, buffaloes, antelopes and so many others.

Day 13: Game drive and boat cruise on Lake Mburo NP

After breakfast, set out for the morning game drive to search for the early risers and the animals missed out in the previous game drive. Return back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, participate in a 2 hours boat ride along Lake Mburo. This will get you close to crocodiles, antelopes, bufalloes and hippos.  Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 14: Return to Kampala. End of safari.

After breakfast, you will go for the last game drive with in the Park to search for the early risers and also look out for animals missed out in the previous game drive. Later transfer back to Kampala with a brief stopover at the Equator for water experiment and photographs; also stop over in Mpigi at Mpambire drum village where you can be able to watch the ceremonial drums made out of local materials. Reach Kampala in the afternoon. Proceed to Entebbe for your flight departure back home.
