This 10-days Uganda safari transfers you to a number of destinations including Murchison falls national park, Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo national park, among others.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park. Enroute rhino tracking tour.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe and then start the drive to Murchison falls national park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will track rhinos and also have lunch. Rhino tracking takes from 30minutes to 2 hours, you will expect to spot the white rhinos feeding or resting in the sanctuary. You will then proceed to Murchison falls national park.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.
Take an early morning drive through the park after an early breakfast at the lodge. The tour guide will lead you to the finest places to easily see the animals. The game drive takes between 2-4 hours. You will expect to spot animals like lions, giraffes, kobs, leopard, buffalo, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeest, waterbucks, among others as well as various water bird species.
Drive back to the lodge for lunch. At 2pm, you will do a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile which is part of the river Nile, which will lead you to the bottom of the falls. You will observe various animals like elephants, crocodiles, large numbers of hippos, buffaloes, waterbucks and also birds such as the storks, fish eagle, pied kingfishers among others. While at the bottom of the falls you will have a great time watching the magnificent waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park.
Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, check out and transfer to Kibale forest national park. You will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fortportal town and continue as you observe have great views of the Rwenzori ranges, if the weather is clear. Check in at your camp. You could go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland which is home to various birds and primate species.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
On this day, you will drive to Kibale forest national park headquarters after breakfast at the lodge where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking and the park in general the park ranger guide. You will then start the trek through the forest to look for the chimps. Unlike gorillas, chimpanzees keep moving around the forest and jump from one tree to another as they go about their daily life. So do not expect to find them in one place.
As you trek chimpanzees, you will expect to see other primates that live in the forest like; monkeys, baboons and mangabey as well as various bird species like the great blue turaco. You will then return to the lodge refresh and have lunch and check out. You will then proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park. If time allows, you can do an evening game drive in the park.
Day 5: Drive to Ishasha – game drive and proceed to Kisoro town.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and drive to Ishasha sector. You will do a game drive in this park of the park where you will look for tree climbing lions. As you look for the lions, you will expect to spot other animals like buffalo, elephant, warthog, waterbucks, topi, kobs among others as well as various savannah bird species. You will then proceed to Kisoro.
Day 6: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Bwindi national park.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Mgahinga national park headquarters where you will be briefed the park ranger guide about the activity and the park rules and regulations and then start the trek to look for these monkeys. The activity takes from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
You will expect to spot the monkeys jumping from one tree branch to another as they go about their daily activities. You will keep following them as you take photos and as you trek the monkeys, you will expect to spot various forest bird species that live in the park. Return to the lodge, have lunch and check out. You will then transfer to Bwindi NP.
Day 7: Nature walk to the falls – Batwa community visit.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Buhoma park headquarters of Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be briefed the park ranger guide about the trek. You will then start the trek through the thick forest, this takes around 3-4 hours and leads to some of the water falls in the forest. You can also take a bath in the water below the falls. Return to the lodge, refresh and have lunch.
Later in the afternoon you will do a community walk to the Batwa communities around Bwindi. At the community, you will learn about the Batwa people and their culture.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and transfer to Lake Mburo national park. As you drive you will have views of kigezi highlands.
Day 9: Game drive and boat cruise.
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge take on a drive through the park to look for different animals that live around. The game drive takes at least 3 hours and you will expect to spot animals like hyenas, zebra, eland, giraffes, kobs, topi, warthogs, waterbucks, leopard, impala among others.
At 2pm you will do a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. The activity takes around 2 hours and you will have beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding vegetation. As you cruise, you will expect to spot animals like; hippos, buffalo, water bucks, as well as various water bird species.
Day 10: Drive back to Kampala. Optional city tour.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator and take photos. You will then proceed to Kampala where you will have lunch. You may choose to do a city tour (optional). Here you will visit the Namugongo martyrs shrine and the Kabaka’s palace with great history to learn about. Your guide will drop you at a hotel in Kampala / Entebbe or at Entebbe international airport for your night flight.
