Uganda boasts of intact wilderness, it is a rich destination of unique wildlif, ranging from the endangered mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, huge concentration of big cats and diverse bird species. With this 22 days Uganda gorillas, wildlife and hiking safari, you have endless chances of to immersing yourself into true untamed wilderness to enjoy up-close encounters of wildlife in over 7 national parks while on game drives, boat cruises, gorilla trekking and hiking safaris.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport. Meet and greet and transfer to your hotel in Kampala.
After your arrive at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our professional company safari guide, who will welcome, brief you and later on transfer to Kampala city for relaxation and night stay.
Day 2: Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, you will go for a city tour around Kampala visiting Gadhafi mosque, Nakasero market, taxi park and you will be surprised with how vibrant the city is from as early as 7:00am. You will as well visit the historical Rubaga and Namirembe cathedrals, as well as the Kasubi tombs. Later have lunch and then be transferred to jinja town, the second biggest city of Uganda.
Day 3: Drive to Jinja town and explore the source of River Nile.
This day, you will visit jinja town and later go to source of river Nile. After this, you will embark on a transfer to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa district, the highest waterfalls in Uganda.
Day 4: Transfer to Pian – Upe game reserve.
Transfer to Pian upe game reserve in northeastern Uganda. you will leave the stunning view s of Sipi falls in the morning and start the journey to Sipi falls. You will have a drive with nice sceneries a head of you and count on arriving in Pian upe a reserve in the most unique setting to the north of Mount. Elgon. You will see different animals including buffaloes, ostriches, roan antelopes, etc.
Day 5: Karamajong culture tour
This day you will go through the Karamoja wilderness area. You will continue your journey off the beaten track going through the tribes hoping you see a market day. This area is very remote with a scenic reserve, local people, markets in the most untouched area and remote village setup as the high lights.
Day 6: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park
You will be transferred to Kidepo valley national park, entering through Nataba gate. Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. The landscape throughout the park is filled with small hills, rocky out crops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Narus river valley for game viewing and photography of elephants, zebras, big herds of buffaloes, jackals, giraffes and possibly lions.
Day 7: Explore the Kanangorok hot springs
After an early breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive to the kanangorok hot springs area crossing the sand river. A variety of animal can be seen roaming around and after which you will connect back for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong people at Karenga and Kapendo. You will meet cultural elders and have an opportunity to interact with them
Day 8: Travel to Gulu town.
This day you will be transferred to the second biggest town in the north going through the flat scenic land scape with local villages until you reach Gulu town. Here you will be taken to Baker’s fort in the afternoon to witness one of the oldest forts in Uganda where Sir Samuel baker was trying to fight and stop slave trade in the north the years of the late 1800’s, overnight in Gulu town.
Day 9: Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park
THIS Day after a befitting breakfast you will embark on the transfer to Uganda’s biggest national park called Murchison falls national park dubbed as the giraffe’s paradise. You will go through the scanty villages and advance through into the park as you descend to the albert Nile You will have a game safari in the afternoon.
Day 10: Game viewing in Murchison Falls National Park and afternoong boat cruise
You will wake up very early in the morning to go for a game viewing safari in search of big cats like leopards, lions. you will also meet elephants, giraffes, buffaloes plus many more.
After lunch you will be taken for an afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile where you get to see hippos yawning, Nile crocodiles and a variety of birds along the banks.
Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest
In the morning, we will again go for a morning game drive to search for some animals before we cross the river to the southern bank heading to Budongo forest for the afternoon chimpanzee tracking adventure. After this tour, transfer to Masindi town for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Drive to Kibale National Park. Tour the crater lakes.
After breakfast, transfer out of Masindi town to Kibale national park – the primate capital of Uganda and the whole world. Overnight stay in Kibale or Fort Portal town. Upon arrival, you will have lunch in Fort portal, and later go for a nature walking safari to visit Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru along Bundibugyo road, where you will be shown ancient caves and geographical stalagmites and stalactites.
Day 13: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale NP. Bigodi Community tour in the evening.
In the morning you will assemble at Kanyanchu briefing center for tracking process to begin. You will be given one hour with the chimpanzees and after you will return for lunch. In the afternoon you will be taken for a community walking safari to mix with the locals and interact with them.
Day 14: Tea plantations tour, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This day you will first go for tea plantations tour, before you embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive through the crater lakes in the hills through to sample out the surprising diversity of these volcanic wonders, birdlife and wildlife. The next destination being the 1978 sq. km Queen Elizabeth N/Park.
Day 15: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day you will go for an early morning game safari in search of lions, elephants, Kobs, buffaloes and lots more as the list is endless. After lunch you again go for a boat cruise on the 6km Kazinga channel that links lake George and lake Edward. Here you can see land and water adapted hippopotamuses yawning and some slashing canine to each other and the national geographical society killing machine – Nile crocodile along the banks and the savannah version of pigs – warthogs as well as the award-winning lion king.
Along the peninsula you also have a magnificent view of birds and animals like the ever-playing African elephants in water as we sigh and reset fatigue and stress to point zero.
Day 16: Transfer to Ishasha sector – Home of tree climbing lions.
This morning, you will transfer to ishasha sector, the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National park, bordering the D.R. C’s Virunga NP. Drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area to see massive numbers of Topis and the southern version of elephants and spot the lions high up in the fig tree branches, normally after midday. Dinner and overnight stay in Ishasha sector.
Day 17: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This day you will be transferred to Bwindi impenetrable forest. You will have lunch in Bwindi area and in the afternoon go for Batwa/pygmy experience where you get to interact with the pygmies who once used to live in the forest but now have to integrated within the community.
Day 18: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is the gorilla tracking day in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. You will have an early breakfast and be taken for a briefing. This forest is home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the gorillas. This forest is also full of birds, butterflies and plant species. It has forest elephants, duikers. After tracking we come back to the lodge for an overnight.
Day 19: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
This is a relaxation day after gorilla tracking. you will be transferred to lake bunyonyi going through cultivated hills you will check in time for lunch to a lake above 1840m above sea level after driving through the romantic Kigezi hills. It is deservedly nice after trotting from Kampala since day one and some early starts without any rest.
Day 20: Explore the Kigezi highlands.
This day after breakfast you will take on a number of activities which are optional such as canoe ride, swimming, visiting Bushara and sharps island the list is endless of decide to stay and read a novel or peruse through our safari photos that you have been taking on the safari ever since you started.
Day 21: Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park
Here you will have a transfer to lake Mburo national park, the zebra magnet. You will have lunch enroute and proceed to the park afterwards. In the evening you will embark on an afternoon/evening game safari, on a search of zebras, buffaloes, elands, Topis, waterbucks, impalas, leopards and many more.
Day 22: Game Walking safari and drive to Kampala.
This day, very early in the morning, you will be taken on a game walking safari and later return to the lodge for breakfast before driving back to Kampala or Entebbe for an overnight stay or catch up with a flight back home.
