3 days Kahuzi-Biega national park gorilla trekking is a short safari that will take you to Democratic Republic of Congo to trek lowland gorillas. Kahuzi-Biega national park is home to lowland gorillas and this safari will start from Kigali then transfer you to Congo where you will meet these gentle endangered gorillas.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Bukavu
Your safari will start with a briefing by our driver guide, then hit the road to Congo. You will drive through Nyungwe forest national park which will connect you to Cyangungu to Bukavu in Congo, the journey will take you about 7 hours with stopper for lunch and stunning sceneries of the green forests proceed and cross to Bukavu which is the close urban center to Kahuzi-Biega. You will arrive in the evening, check-in the lodge, and have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
Arise in the early morning, greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and immediately transfer to the park headquarters where you will have a briefing about lowland gorillas trekking. You will thereafter connect with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi-Biega NP.
You will spend an hour with these primates, taking pictures and recording videos, you will be amazed how they play, how they move, how they nurture their young ones. Thereafter, you will return to the headquarters for gorilla trekking certificate, head back to the lodge for lunch, dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Check-out and departure
On the last leg of your safari, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, bid farewell to Kahuzi-Biega national park and head back to Kigali. You will cruise through thick forests of Nyungwe, have an enroute tour at King’s palace in Nyanza, visit Butare museum and embark on your journey, arrive in Kigali in the afternoon, lunch and then be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or to other destinations.
