The 5-day Kidepo Safari starts and ends in Entebbe International Airport. During this 5-day Kidepo Safari, you will have a chance to spot a variety of animal species in their natural habitats during the Game drives as well as experience the rich cultural heritage of the Karamajong people. Kidepo Valley National Park is nestled in the remote northern corner of Uganda acting as an international boundary between Kenya and South Sudan covering an area of about 1442sqkm and is home to a diverse array of wildlife including lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, stunning landscapes mixed with rugged hills that provide home to these wildlife species and surrounding communities of the Karamajong people. Safari Details

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

On this day, you will be picked up by our representative, who will be your guide for the next 5 days. Later, your guide will take you through a briefing of the 5-day Kidepo Safari concerning the destination to visit, travel tips, activities to do, accommodation to stay and other activities to go on a safari. Later, you will embark on an approximately 12-hour journey to Kidepo Valley National Park via Gulu and Kitgum, and while the road can be challenging at times, it offers an excellent opportunity to witness Uganda’s rural landscapes and small villages along the way with an en route lunch in Gulu. Arrive at the proceed to lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-day Game Drive and Nature Walk

Have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and later embark on a full day game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park where you will have a chance to spot largest concentration of wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes, lions, cheetahs and different bird species including the rare ostrich.

Later, you will enjoy a picnic lunch with your guide and proceed for a nature walk offering an excellent opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna up close, from tracking animal footprints to identifying unique plants and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Explore the Kidepo River and Kanangorok Hot Springs

After breakfast, head to the northern section of the park towards the Kidepo River. The area around the river is a fantastic place for birdwatching and observing wildlife coming to drink. You will have chances to spot crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of antelope species. Later, you will have your Lunch and proceed to the Kanangorok Hot Springs in the northern part of the park, which attracts a range of bird species, including the vibrant ostrich.  Later, you will drive back to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Evening Cultural Experience

After a mouthwatering breakfast, start your day with beautiful sunrise when animals are most active to catch up some of the missed sightings you will have a chance to spot giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, Uganda kobs, waterbucks and other animals roaming freely in their natural habitats. Later you will return to the lodge for your lunch and preparation for the afternoon cultural experience.

After lunch, you will drive to the Karamajong communities where you will spend more time engaging with the community, learning about the Karamojong’s daily life and cultural practices. You can even participate in their dances or sample traditional dishes. After a cultural immersion, return to the lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening. Enjoy the sunset over the valley as you take your refreshing dinner.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe International Airport and Departure

Enjoy a restful breakfast at the lodge and later embark on a scenic drive as you exit the park and you will have a chance to spot some animals. You will proceed with your journey to Entebbe International Airport to connect with your flight for departure as you conclude the 5-day Kidepo Safari.
