This 5 Days Murchison Falls safari with Rhino tracking exposes you to Uganda’s biggest national park in north western part of Uganda. It includes the rewarding game viewing like lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas etc. Recreational boat safari and hike to the top of the falls, chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest and finally rhino tracking.
Itinerary for the 5 Days Murchison Falls safari with Rhino tracking
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe international airport.
You will be picked our company staff and taken to your hotel either in Entebbe or Kampala the capital city of Uganda.
Day 2: Visit to the sceneries of North Eastern Uganda
After breakfast, you will head northwest of Uganda through the beautiful scenic flat areas of Uganda. Just after 50km out of Kampala your guide will point out to you the popular luwero triangle that started the NRA revolution during the post Adi Amin era that saw the movement regime come to power.
You will have lunch en-route as you later arrive north of the park for an evening game safari in search of the elephants, giraffes, buffalos etc.
Day 3: Adventurous Game Drive
Take an early cup of tea/coffee and then set off for a game drive in the park. You will have a chance of seeing among the big cats hunting, elephants, and giraffes Jackson heartbeats plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches over 76.
We shall continue searching the drive circuits to the delta point for a cocktail of birds such as the famous shoebill stock. You will enjoy a relaxed lunch as in the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the nile (the Victoria nile) you will have a 3hours boat cruise up to the base of the falls. Where you get to see thousands of hippos, nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of bird species along the banks.
You will get off the boat and take the bakers trail for a hike to the top of the falls where you get to see water cruising through a 7m gap that makes a very thunderous roar.
You will then be driven back to your new lodging for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: The Budongo Forest
An early wakeup is a must on this day. After it’s time for briefing before you enter the famous budongo forest the once hunting grounds for the king of Bunyoro kingdom the late omukama kabalega in search of our closest cousin chimpanzees. Lots of birds are also waiting for you such as the black and white Columbus monkeys on the list. After trekking the chimps we shall transfer you to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary at Nakitoma for the overnight stay.
Day 5: Track White Rhinos, Head back to Kampala
On this day after a morning breakfast, your driver guide shall take you to the briefing area before you are taken to track southern white rhinos on foot. It’s only in this area in Uganda that you track rhinos on foot.
After tracking you will embark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch enroute.
