5 days Uganda double gorilla trekking is a fantastic safari for gorilla enthusiasts. You will visit two gorilla destinations in Uganda and these are; Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga gorilla national park. These are the only destinations in Uganda where you will find gorillas, you will be lucky to see golden monkeys as well. The safari is basically about gorillas and you will be sure to meet them.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
On this day, you will be picked by our driver representative from the hotel/airport, he will brief you about how the itinerary will be running, and then transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park. The distance is about 8 hours, but with stopover at Kayabwe where Equator crosses. You will engage in equator experience, thereafter embark on the road, you will have an en-route lunch in Mbarara, then embark on the road to Bwindi national park, arrive in the late evening, check-in the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa village tour
Arise in the morning, get your breakfast and packed lunch and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking exercise, it is at this information center where you are allocated a gorilla family to trek, you will go with a ranger guide who will help you to meet the gorillas.
You will be given an hour to spend with the gorillas, thereafter you will return to the headquarters for gorilla trekking certificate then proceed to the lodge to freshen an in the evening you will visit Batwa community. They will welcome you with songs, dances, they are so jolly people. They will tell you ancient stories when they used to stay in the forest, they also have craft work and you can buy one to support a family. Retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga NP and guided nature walk
Arise in the morning for a lazy breakfast, meet your driver guide and be transferred to Mgahinga gorilla national park. You will arrive in the park at the noon time, check-in to your lodge, relax, have lunch and in the evening you will engage in the guided nature to have the intimacy with the nature. You will spot birds, monkeys, baboons, scenic views and then retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga national park.
This is another great day for you to enjoy double gorilla trekking in Mgahinga NP. You will unfold your day with breakfast, and then be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking, you will later head to the thick forests to search for mountain gorillas. You will be enlightened by the sights and sounds of birds, you will meet the gorillas, spend an hour with them, take pictures and videos, return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation and dinner.
Day 5: Check-out and departure
On this last day of your trip, you will wake up on a delicious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and be transferred back to the Kampala. You will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, hit the road again to Kampala, the driver will drop you at the hotel or at the airport depending on your preferred destination or time of your flight.
