This 3 Days Lake Mburo birding safari takes you to Mabamba Swamp for the shoebills and Lake Mburo national park for a number of bird species like the Giant Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Shinning Blue Kingfisher, among others.

Itinerary for 3-days Lake Mburo birding safari

Day 1: Mabamba Swamp & Botanical Gardens

Early morning picks up and transfer to Mabamba swamp, a Ramser Site situated on the edges of Lake Victoria, hidden but with many unique and special birds on offer. Afternoon transfer back to Entebbe for lunch and after we’ll take you birding around the botanical gardens, a diverse environment that has a lot of birds to offer. Evening Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park

The early morning will be spent bird watching in the park for special species such as the Wattled Starling, Northern Crombec, Lilac-breasted Roller, Red-necked Francolin, Bare-faced Go-away-bird among many more.

Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park & Mpanga Forest

Morning spent in the park going on a boat trip looking for wetland and lake species such as Giant Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Shinning Blue Kingfisher among many more. Early afternoon transfer to Mpanga Forest – a beautiful forest that holds up to 300 different bird species.

Some of the highlights include the Yellow-throated Longclaw, Western Nicator, Little Greenbul, White-headed Sawwing, Winding Cisticola, Tawny-flanked Prinia, Black Cuckoo, Bronze Sunbird, Copper Sunbird, Green-headed Sunbird, Superb Sunbird, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Variable Sunbird.
